Hallo Leute

Wie ihr vielleicht wisst, benötigt ihr 1.4a der Descent1 daten um sie mit D1X-Rebirth zu nutzen.
Ich habe früher einen Patch erstellt um um die Descent.hog/pig korrekt auf Linux/*NIX zu patchen.

Dennoch benötigte der DOS Patch imme rnoch eine volle Descent 1 Installation und bereitete daher Probleme, dass neue Spieler meistens versuchten diesen in einer D1X-Rebirth Installation zum laufen zu bringen (nachdem D1X-Rebirth sich quer stellte), was natürlich immer schief ging.

Basierend auf dem Linux/*NIX Patch habe ich eine Multiplattform-Lösung erstellt, die AUCH undter Windows funktioniert.

Dieser kann also direkt innerhalb einer D1X-Rebirth Installation ausgeführt werden, oder nur mit den benötigten D1X-Rebirth Daten.

Wenn ihr also noch Descent 1 v1.0 habt, bitte testet, schreibt ob ihr Probleme hattet und wie nutzerfreundlich ihr ihn fandet.

Hello guys

As you might know, you will require v1.4a of the Descent1 data files to run D1X-Rebirth.
I initially created a patch to patch Descent.hog/pig correctly on Linux/*NIX.

However as the DOS patch always required a full Descent 1 installation it always caused problems, as new players tried to run the patch (after D1X-Rebirth refused to start) directly from the D1X-Rebirth directory - which failed, too.

Based on the Linux/*NIX patch I created a multiplatform patch which will work on Windows AS WELL.

so the patch can either be directly extracted and run from INSIDE the D1X-Rebirth directory or only with the necessary data files. What I now would like to see if FEEDBACK.
If you still own Descent 1.0, please test it and report, if you had problems and how user-friendly you thought it was.

Ich habs ausprobiert. Sogar unter Vista X86. Hat super funktioniert.

I tried it out. With Vista X86. Worked like a charm.
