SP mission

There's an intro level before the main level, which will enable
2 ships [Magnum and Phoenix] You can collect your weapon as well in
the intro level, but it's not necessary. The Intro level rooms are
included in the main level [Right behind you when you spawn in the main level]
Except in the main level the weapons spawns from a generator, so if you die, you
can pick up new weapons. No need to find your death spot.

The main level is not an mission with objectives and stuff. It's more like an
training level with an 'anarchy' feel, except for the fact that
the bots dont fight each other, except when they accidental hit each other.
Bots spawn from 33 diffrent matcen round the level. Each matcen spawns abot 40 bots,
which is plenty enuff i guess Smilie

In the lower part of the level, ther is an key. Pick it up and use it from your
inventory, it will end the level and show you the statistical overview.

Thanks for the tutorials all over the net, I think I have gone through them all, and
specal thanks to tutorial 'the level' on schplurg.com, wich I follow in every detail.

Special thanks to Atan for guide me through how to enable ships, and Checkor for
his help on scaling d3 screenshots.

Yo Leon!

Nice Level!

I don't really understand why it is called "RoboDogFight" - as DogFight stands for 1on1 and after a couple of minutes in the mission it is beginning to become quite full in there - but OK Smilie

IMHO it is a bit flat - you can barely dodge by sliding up or down at all and often you get stuck in the hallways...

May be a good idea to enlarge the whole mine by 50% or so...

Anyways: Well done! Good lightning and texturing as far as I could see!

A coop version would be great tho...

on trainee it's great and enough space to move. but on ace you get rosted. *g*

I tried to get the level finished, but wow, that's really big!! and 33*40 is 1320 bots to kill LOL that's cool

Did everything work? You was able to select ships? Did you find the key?

As far as the name Checkor, im really bad at names, if doghight means 1 on 1, then robodogfight its not a good name for this level.
I see dogfight more like use your aim to kill and dodge income fire [the dance], as diffrent from fire and forget way of fighting.
I had doubt about have mortors and napalm rockets in there, but I let it in. Homers you get from the Stinger spew.

When it comes to room structure and stuff, i like low roofed rooms and hallways. If it feels difficult to fight, look at it as a challange Sehr glücklich Make it a goal to kill as many as possible before you die, push the limit every time. One day you can kill'em all and not die once, even on insane.
I've really been good at kill the flame-RAS during my building of this level [with energy weapon of course, not MD/Vauss], he used to be a pain in tha a$$. And sixgun boss!!! He's awesome.
But anyway, I will prolly make a vesion 2 with more roof hight over your head.

@D.Cent. What do you need? The CPP file?

It's ok on Hotshot, but on Trainee it's 'Fish in a Barrel'...lol!

But, to be honest... I loved the architecture, texturing and lighting, but the gameplay became 'more of the same' too quickly. Too easy to just camp and exhaust the matcens one or a few at a time.

Funny question what a dogfight really is. Searching for this word a lot of sources names it as a fight between two aircrafts or a fight between groups of aircrafts.

But what is the real sorce for it?... dogs fight. And here it is described as a fight between two dogs, groups of dogs or dogs against other animals humans included. The only thing all this fights have in common that they happen in short distance and not as "fire and forget" and this is mentioned very often looking for the meaning of it.

So the name isn´t wrong I guess. From the level description "slaughterhouse" would fit, but I guess to remeber there is already a level named this way. Or robots doomsday.

But sorry, I went a little bit OT you asked for the playability of your level, not for a name for it.

Well, I checked in d3edit, and according to my matcen programing it should have been 1310 bots.

But I know D3 sometimes don't count properly. I have notice when I sometimes kill a bot, score doesn't showup on the hud.
In retibution level 5, the one you have to protect at least 3 reactors. No matter how many bots you kill there, it only shows 3 or 4 bots on the end screen.
Killin' blackpyros gives you a score only now and then.

Hey RagilRal, you seems to be a good SP pilot. How do you performe in retibution? I remember I made a goal couple years a go to beat Reti on insane with no death. Took me a while. D3 on insane is hard, it took me a while also becos I had a codeks of allways go back to level 1 start if I died, I didn't want to go back to last saved game.
I also wanted to kill every bots in the whole campaign, something I allmost accomplished, except for secret level 2. That level is hard with all the frag stuff.
I din't use cloak and invulnerability, and I wanted to dogfight every bot. No hit and run or big rockets. But I wasn't able to beat Hellion in a open fight, just hit and run in the tunnels.
Mercenary I haven't tried yet, but I think that is hard. last boss I don't beat even on hotshot. The MD lasersight guys is really hard to beat as well, at least when there's too many of them.

Yo,

Long time ago since i played the Retri Missions.
They can be tough, especially bcause it is advised
to take care of not running out of ammo or energy.
Mercenaries seemed easier to me than the Retri
set.

Bots tend to kill eachother as well, when its too crowdy.
