Gibt ein neues Instareap Mod welches auf allen OS typen läuft! Winken

Ist es auch kompatibel zur Win-only Version ?

Edit: Ah okay, läuft unter einem anderen Namen (XInstareap). Ein Aufruf also an alle ServerOps, XInstareap statt Instareap laufen zu lassen :)

Dazu müsste AC erst ensprechend erweitert werden Mit den Augen rollen

wesentlich interessantere Frage: was soll der zwingende Grund dafür sein, dass es nicht möglich wäre, aus der vorhandenen Source einen Mod für Linux zu bauen, der mit dem bereits existierenden und weit verbreitetem Windows Mod kompatibel ist?

Wenn wegen einer Handvoll Linux-Usern die weit überwiegende Majorität der D3er den Mod wechseln soll, inclusive solcher Komplikationen wie einer Modifikation des AC, dann wackelt, mit Verlaub, der Schwanz mit dem Hund.

Was ich sagen will, ist, daß Du einfach noch nicht fertig bist, solange Dein Linux Mod mit dem Standard Mod nicht kompatibel ist. Wenn Du wirklich einen zwingenden Grund kennst, warum das nicht geht, erklär ihn mir bitte.

Soweit ich weiß, ist der Source von Grim für Instareap neuer als die Version von Instareap, die im Umlauf ist.
Beide Versionen sind (neben der trivialen Versionsabfrage) inkompatibel zueinander. Grim hat für das umläufige Instareap wohl keine Quellen schicken können.

Der einzige Ausweg scheint wohl nur zu sein, entweder die Sourcen umzuschreiben, daß beide Versionen kompatibel sind (dazu muss nur der Datentransfer zwischen Client und Server identisch sein).
Eine andere Möglichkeit wäre, daß die neue Version von Instareap vollkommen neue Features hat (etwa freie Waffenwahl), so daß der Umstieg ohnehin lohnen würde.

Ich verstehe Dich zwar, aber leider hat Grim den Source von der alten Version nicht mehr.

Ich habe viel versucht, doch das Ergebnis ist, dass du auf dem Server stehst und jeder Schuss zwar für Dich wie MD aussieht, aber in Wirklichkeit ein Flare ist.

Deswegen musste ich das sorum leiten, anders ging es einfach nicht.

Genau das meine ich. Möglichkeit 2 mit Funktionserweiterung ist natürlich schwieriger zu realisieren, und damit ehrer unrealistisch, aber eine Anpassung der Sourcen an den Win-Mod sollte mit einem vertretbaren Aufwand zu schaffen sein, in dem man sich per packetsniffer anschaut, was denn genau zwischen zwei Windows-Clients abläuft, und das nachbaut.

Ich wüsste nicht, wie ich das machen sollte (zumal da ich kein Windows habe; nur wine/cedega... und ob das vertrauenswürdig ist, kann ich nicht sagen).

Eine Idee wäre noch, einen decompiler über die DLL laufen zu lassen... Nur kenn ich keinen, der das schaffen könnte...

Wenn Grim sowieso eine fast fertige neuere Version hat ist es unabdingbar das es in Sachen InstaReap mal ein Update gibt.
Das Update träge dann sowieso einen neuen Namen und eventuell könntest du mit Grim zusammenarbeiten und es Win und Linux kompatibel halten Winken

Es wäre unsinnig wenn es jetzt eine neue Version gäbe und n paar Wochen oder Monate später dann nochmal eine neuere von Grim...

Ausserdem müsste man sich mit Grendel absprechen in wieweit dann die neue Version, AC kompatibel ist!

Du brauchst zwei Rechner unter Windoof, Deinen und Lo´s, zum Bleistift (jaja is scho klar- ich würd Euch zwei Win98er Lizenzen leihen - Ihr müßtet es nur übers Herzchen bringen, eine dual boot Umgebung zu installieren, ist ja fürn guten Zweck Winken )
Und dann z.B. mit wireshark (formerly known as etherreal) nach dem Unterschied in den Datenpaketen suchen zwischen Win-Win und Win-Linux. Sobald die identisch sind, ist es Sache des Linux-Mod´s, einen reinkommenden Treffer als MD-Treffer zu behandeln.

Auf meinem PC lief nie Windows - und es wird auch nie drauf laufen Auf den Arm nehmen Winken

Du kannst auch mit cedega testen. Für den Netzwerkverkehr spielt die Emulation ja keine Rolle.

ich wär für freie Waffenwahl, d.h. jede Waffe killt beim Treffer.
Der ServerOp entscheidet dann mit Waffen-Bannings, welche Waffen zugelassen werden.
So kann man preiswert nen Fusion-Reap oder Concussion-Reap machen.
