Mal eine Frage in die Runde:
Ist jemand in der Lage, eine saubere Python-Installation auf nen RootServer zu bringen ?
suse 9.3 / Apatche2.x / PHP5.x / SQL4.x / Perl / ... sind schon drauf, aber leider kein python.
Brauch ich aber für ein kleines Projekt /Spielerei.
Python 2.4.3 wäre von mir gewünscht. (last stable version) http://www.python.org/download/
thx im Vorraus und ... nein, hat nichts mit Descent zu tun sondern ist für mich privat.
(aber würde mir ca. 35 Eu's Installationskosten von ner Firma sparen)

Kommt drauf an, welche Distribution auf deinem server zum Einsatz kommt. Oft ist es ja schon SuSE, und da beispielsweise kommt eine Phyton ja schon mit.
Aktuelle Versionen sind meist dann auch in den APT/Yum Repos zu finden.
Falls du auf Source zurückgreifen willst sollte das nicth so kompliziert sein, abhängig davon welch eModule du brauchst.

jap, is suse 9.3 drauf
/usr/bin/ => python ... => nicht vorhanden ... (sollte eigendlich der Standardpfad sein) 
Bist du irgendwann im DF IRC oder ICQ unterwegs und evtl für diesen job zu haben ?
... weil ich hab ne py-inst noch nie gemacht und bin ansonsten mit linux auch nicht so ganz grün ...

Ich kann dir nicht viel versprechen, da ich nicht genau weiss, welche Ressourcen dir auf dem Server zur Verfügung stehen. Doch eigentlich sollte das mit der Installation nicht so das Problem sein, da du anscheinend nur eine Standardinstallation benötigst und ich mit speziell SuSE relativ viel Erfahrung habe.
