I would like to ask u if this 'outhouse area' could possibly be enhanced.
Wouldn't it be useful if we own inside this section
the 'say hello' part
AND a technical part where Level/Tool builders could share there infos?
Our LevelDesigner board is German only which is useful and good..,
but there is no place for 'two-language' infos inside.
This is what we tried to own here in this section, but it seems that's not enough these days.
Maybe the 'other way' of your board will let things grow here a little more in the future
and that would 'force' some new things too in my opinion.
If you would watch carefully about the 'who and how' here this could be a good chance to go ahead in Descent working.
I hope it's a point to think over, let me here what you are thinking about.

Maybe you'd laugh - but yesterday I was thinking something very similar...

Sadly you didn't join one of the usergroups "Level-Betatesters" or "Level-Designers" yet. This Board is in english-only too but has more german fellows than international members yet. The "Level-Beta-Test-Forum" is very new but at the moment but it "isn't used very much" by now. The parts I was thinking over was:

- Make the News-Board german / english (Newsposts) and make the Newsletter-User-Group accessible to users with both languages.

- Posting stuff like videos (like the video-page) / screeners (Picture Contest) and other interesting things, already posted on the german forums here.

What were the points you was thinking over? As I saw many users left the DBB because of "personal reasons" I'd be happy to catch these guys because most of them are THOSE guys who are willing to forward the community and the survival of Descent and are liked by me very much (esp. Dwn, Hunter and you). So If you got good ideas feel free to come back to me soon. I'd prefer TeamSpeak (where I made an english embassy too) or Phone to crosscheck our ideas....

I didn't saw that usergroups up to now I signed up to the LevelDesigner group now, did Dwndr?

here some ideas:
What I would like to own is a 'sticky'-feature.
Important infos i.e. Limits should be on top position always.
No need for saying: use the search funktion...

LevelDesigner as headline should be renamed.
LD is 'only' one part in /Descent-Development/

Inside D-Development please seperate into:
LevelDesigner
Toolmaker
Mod
Scripting
AI
Editor
Art
and what I poss forgot

Different D1/2 and D3 sections to make it easy to find related things
this all would be helpful for overview in my eyes.

A common up-/download area to share stuff (for group member only)

I don't know if this all would be possible, just my ideas.
And sure all must be restricted to the 'creatives' only.
Anyone who missuse that boards should be cut off that community,
known dumbs shouldn't be accepted right from the beginning.

ok, we spoke about this last days and it seems that's not neccessary to change the existing thing
as I suggested.
We don't own so much ppl, traffic and ideas to split things into different part here.
So we have to use this english forum for both, talk and technical things I believe.
Any comments about?
