I have a MS Force FeedBack, which may have to be replaced by summer. What are your opinions? Frage

I like my MS Sidewinder 3D Pro very much, with some modification (put a harder sping inside, and weightend the bottom) it feels stable since 2 years. The only problem is the coolie hat, which will broke about once a year.

It's a shame that MS has canceled the Sidewinder line... but I think there will be allways some on ebay.

But I wouldn't use Force Feedback in Descent. While it's funny in single player, it will only make aiming worser while someone is penetrating your shields - because the stick moves every time on impact.

I am going to decide on a new brand for sticks in the near future. It won't be MS cause I want brand new one with service contract. Lachen

I use the Thrustmaster Top Gun "Fox 2 Pro" since two years without even ONE problem. The size of this stick recommends big male hands! Winken Nothing for smallhanded girlies or kiddies!
Before thisone I used the MS PP 2. Apart from the f***ing weak cooly-switches a real fine stick.

I myself am using the SW Precision 2 for about two years now. 2 of the coolie-switches gave up the last month, but i replaced them with the other 2 switches cause i dont need them. one of the best benefits to earlier sticks is the usb connector. i had lots of probs with getting my earlier sidewinder standard calibrated, but that's gone with the SW P2. if it doesn't work, plug out, plug in, and everything's fine.

wtf are all these 2s in this text? Lachen

Why not?
I use the MS Sidewinder Precision 2 for the right hand (for the aiming stuff) - sometimes the MS Sidewinder 3D Pro (wich is a bit "smoother") and
Logitech Wingman Extreme for the left hand (for accelarating stuff).
But I can tell ya, that my MS Sticks are working really well (especially the coolie hat). The logitech stick is only useful for the (not so precise) steering stuff. His coolie hat is almost not useable for "more precise operations".
So, I would ever take a MS Sidewinder again.

Greetz, Diti

I use a Saitek 3D Gold USB.

Wouldn't trade it for anything. I've used all 3 MS sticks and found them sloppy and fragile. .. and incredably spendy. teh 3D Gold was only 30 bucks ... not 75. ungläubig

It's also left or right handed. The head is adjustable too.

I use the FF2 -- w/o the power cable plugged in Smilie Having no center force ate all is actually an advantage -- no tired arms and very quick response times..

Edit: on my 2nd comp I use a SW3DP BTW.. I tried a lot joysticks the last few years, most are crap -- esp. the Logitech sticks (potentiometers give out fast..). The nice part about the MS stick is that their X/Y pickups are optical (the SW3DP is the only stick ever (!) where all axis are digital pickups). Since the FF2 is very hard to get by nowadays (everyone thinks it's worth its weight in gold..) I'm going to check out the Saitek X52 as soon it's available Smilie
