Kannste nicht !!
Die wurden in den anfangstagen direckt von outrage(interplay) erzeugt .
soweit ich weiss auch nur von den ersten 1000 anmeldungen

Yo Chris. Die Pilotenbilder.
Interplay hat 1999 - noch vor dem Erscheinen des ersten Demos von D3 einen Pilot-Pic-Contest für die D1 / D2 Piloten gemacht. Es hieß damals das die ersten 1000 Bilder in das Game übernommen werden sollen. man musste jetzt eine Grafik im TGA-Format von 64x64 Pixeln mit der Angabe des Pilotennames abgeben - und das Pilotenbild sollte übernommen werden.

Letztendlich sind auch 685 Bilder in das Game übernommen worden.

Der Versuch von Zappafan das System für neue Bilder zugänglich zu machen ist gescheitert.

Auch ich habe mich mal tagelang damit beschäftigt. Hab es aber damals aufgegeben.

Ich sehe aber nachwievor eine Möglichkeit Pilotenbilder einzufügen. Leider müssten sich allerdings dann alle D3-Piloten die daran interessiert sind eine etwa 6 MB grosse Datei von hier runterladen - was nicht das Problem ist denke ich.

Yo. Aber das stimmt so nicht ganz - Interplay macht es sich da nur etwas einfach. Ich habe es schon geschafft - allerdings war das eine SCHWEINEARBEIT. Wie gesagt: Ich würde mich bei Interesse von min. 10 Leuten nochmals drum kümmern. Was ich auch noch wissen muss ist: wie bearbeite ich IDX-Dateien - ausser mit dem Hex-Editor...

Die Datei würde nach der Fertigstellung ca. 6 MB gross sein - und müsste einfach hier runtergeladen werden und in das Hauptverzeichnis von Descent gepackt werden.

Also *.IDX beschreibt kein einheitliches Format und taucht
in unterschiedlichen Datenbanksystemen auf.
Es kann aber auch wasweisichwas drin sein, also unbekannte Formate
enthalten. Auch könnten sie im Verbund mit anderen Dateien stehen.
Das du ein Programm mit Oberfläche findest das die Dinger anzeigen
kann bezweifle ich.
Zuerst muestest du herausfinden was das eigentlich ist, um
dann darüber nachzudenken wie man das liest.
Falls es eine Indexdatei ist so ordnet sie Schluesseln Adressen oder
Daten zu ...
Vielleicht sind es ja auch die persönlichnen Daten von Idefix Smilie

OK - Also Zappafans Versuch das System zu öffnen ist tatsächlich gescheitert. Jedoch hat er die gleiche Idee - die ich auch hatte: Einfach eine Sammlung von neuen Pics zusammenstellen und alle laden dann diese Datei runter.

Also: Euer Pilotenbild muss wie folgt aussehen:

TGA-Format (targa) ; 64 x 64 Pixel ; 24 Bit unkomprimiert ;

Dateiname muss EXAKT eurem Pilotennamen entsprechen. Als Beispiel: Pilotenname = Do_Checkor - Dateiname = Do_Checkor.TGA

dieses Bild wird dann an D3pilotpics@wildcards.org gemailt.

EINSENDUNG NUR NOCH DIESEN MONAT = MAI 2001

Vielen Dank an Roadrunner für die Info! Ich hätte das gleiche sonst jetzt selber gemacht.

Ach ja: ein kostenloses kleines Zeichenprogramm was automatisch die Bilder in TGA 64x64 abspeichert gibt es hier zum downloaden

Auf dieser Seite könnt Ihr auch die Pilotenbilder ansehen die schon in der Liste sind.

BTW: Unser gutster freund und Kupferstecher [DCG]MasterOD IST schon auf der Liste - so so - wollteste uns wohl was verheimlichen was

Die verlangen ein Bild mit 24bit...meint ihr die akzeptieren auch ein Bild mit transparenz (32bit)

Ich habe diese Frage soeben an Zappafan´s team geschickt. Ich denke aber das Roady Recht hat. Ich glaub nicht das das geht - so weit ich mich erinnern kann sind die Shiplogos auch nur in 24bit möglich...

Errr - mal was anderes: ich habe grade - passend zum Thema eine Seite erstellt auf der ALLE Pilotenbilder der derzeitigen PPICS.HOG abgebildet sind.

Hier könnt Ihr ja mal bei Interesse reinschauen.

Sind aber nicht ganz so viele bekannte Piloten dabei...

die Frage von Lex war: Können wir auch 32Bit nehmen (z.B. wegen Transparenz)
