hello,
sorry im a bit late.
Im realy abuzz that you starts and organised D3 Tournaments.
I also had the Idea of d3 Tournaments in the past.
I also had Delia offered and now offered to all who wannt organised D³Tourneys in the Future to use our DeepBlue Gameservers.
DeepBlue is a standalone D3 Gameserver so i can give you a noHardware Lag Garanty
To advance for the future Tourneys i create a PDF Tournament doppel KO System concept.
Its realy easy and applicatory and also free for everyone who wannt to use.
Checkout here:
http://www.diii-pro.de/D3tourney3.pdf
The Tourney organiser becomes a FTP Account where he can upload updatet PDFs
Clients have the option to update the Formular Information everytime they wannt.
If you wannt to use it i will spend more time to amplify it (attendance Scripts are in planning) within seperate E-Mail accounts pop3...
If u interesst feel free to kontakt me here or via PM or send a mail
U rockz!!!
ps.
Because i have Problems to registry with the DBB plz post my Quote to the right Tread, ty

A dynamically updated PDF would be cool.
I could do a simple bracket graphic in PostScript and add the
names with a script, but the server would have to have
Ghostscript installed for the automatic PS to PDF conversion
(Derick: is there a "gs" command on the diii-pro.de server?)...
and I don't suppose there's anyone who would make a nice
background with vector-graphics?

Out of curiosity: is there a problem with the current one? All sounds like unnecessary to me as the bracket thing from now is fine for me.

"vergebene Liebesmühe"
by accident i have heard that Wormaus works on a php tournament system from KT Leage or something else...
http://www.descent3.info
@Cheggy: what i saw is thats the brackets hp is impracticable and full of Google Adsense commercials...

Bei der Graphik hätte ich die Punkte jetzt intuitiv immer so verstanden, dass Lion verloren hat ...

The Brackets are odd - same as the PDF - I agree with Marix: hard to understand who won which game without having the final result and going backwards...

Yup, and that doesn't work for the final.

outbound from the winnerround the names who are listed to the next game is the winner from the last match...
You dont need to go backward. The Problem is to see the winner of the Tournamend
So i set the field of result behind the playernames, that should fix it

Now the Tourney Operator have more Option to style the Result field.
vertical in to lines or horizontal like the old one. This makes the System more flexible (the deeper mind to do it over pdf)
Heres a alternative for the next US / EU Tourney:
