|
|
Hey all,
Need some help. As I am getting nowhere fast @ the DBB, I need some help to rig my D3edit for Scripting.
So here are the magic questions:
1.What do I need, (already have SDK from PD)
2.Where do I get it,
and How do I set it up in D3edit?
Totally Confused,
Fus

From the limky that Floyd provided:
Quote: | Note: On Windows XP, however, there is no Autoexec.bat file. You need to set up an environment variable for it: goto System Properties / Advanced Tab -> Environment Variables button. |
Ok now what? I have 2 options in this tab, User Variable, and System Variable. Where do I put this string of code? I have the folder in my D3/Editor folder.
This helps a little more, but need this piece of important info.

i would guess "system variable", since i have no win xp, but autoexec.bat entries are also system wide.

OK-
I have tried variations of PappaCat's strange string and am getting nadda!
From the error msg in D3eit:
Quote: | Virtual GCC Compiler layer for Descent 3
Copyright 1999 Outrage Entertainment
Source: "c:\games\descent3\editor\sdk_kit\osiris\ctftest1a.cpp"
Output: "c:\games\descent3\editor\sdk_kit\osiris\ctftest1a.dll"
DLLinit: "C:\Games\Descent3\Editor\SDK_KIT\osiris\dllinit.c"
Debug Info: C7
Warning Level: 3
DLL Type: Level Script
gcc.exe not found in your path, please verify that your PATH environment variable is setup correctly, and it includes your bin directory of your gcc installation
example:
set PATH=C:\Windows;C:\Windows\Command;C:\EGCS-1.1.2\bin
|
Just what the heck am I doing wrong?
In XP SP2, I have in the Control Panel\System\Advanced\Enviroment Variables Tab I have the following in the System Section:
Quote: | Variable Name: D3edit Scripting
Value: set PATH=C:\EGCS-1.1.2\BIN;%PATH% |
Still stumped

the variable name is "path", and the value is "C:\EGCS-1.1.2\BIN;%PATH%"
i hope the %path% adds the earlier content of the path variable, so other programs don't get affected. windows help should provide further info. as i said before, i can't verify it, since i don't have xp.
