when I press the X or the exit button.
I now have to use task manager to exit Vortex. Anyone else have a similar issue or have any ideas why? Used to work flawlessly now not so much.

That sounds like Windows (actually Explorer) needs a restart but of course could be pretty much anything else as well.
I have this too every now and then, but usually with other software than Vortex. A restart normally solves it. If it doesn't, I'd reinstall Vortex by copying all files to a new folder. After a test you can copy your previous settings.ini file over.

Don, I overlooked your thread. Sorry man!
I'd try a clean reinstall of Vortex, too. Preferably into another folder like C:\Games\Descent3\Vortex2\
No changes to antivirus or personal firewall lately?
Let us know how you're getting on bro!

I just figured out that Vortex doesn't want to close for a very long time if you unplug the network cable.
In that case it could also be an issue with your firewall.

Not a problem Martin. I'll do the re-install into another folder thing and see what happens. I've actually been using a copy of Vortex that I have on a CD. So I have on each machine just copied from CD to Hard drive for quite some time. Thanks again.
EDIT: Yep that fixed it.
EDIT2: The version that quit closing states it is version 2.3.0 while the version I downloaded from slyclan says 2.2.9, now I wonder where I got 2.3.0 from?

Cool!
That is actually a test version only - the latest one in fact. Nice to hear you got it going properly again!
