Hiya Atan! Long time no see. Winken

I have a problem I hope you can quickly help with. With permission from TMinusTen I am modifying the original Wicked Garden for the 1 year Anniversary for CatDawg/Phenomena's passing (event to be held on the 7th in one day). His brother Meatball supplied the pictures and suggested the locations. Anyway...

using Atan P.0_1_39(p):

I have fixed the errors in the original level. One bad one was that you could go 'out of level' to the left of the pictures. As I fixed, I brought the room count down from 35 to 18 since it is such a small level. During the fixing I clicked the 'Fix and Compress'. Shortly afterward a message showed up in Verify "34 Duplicate Rooms". Unable to figure this out I continued fixing and the error went away on it's own.

But, if I remember right from when I was helping you before, aren't the portals supposed to all convert to the 'sample texture'? They all show up as 'palmleaf1' now. That might be right, just asking.

The real problem is that I can't get the lighting back to normal. I have tried many combinations of buttons, lightmap spacing etc but still get abrupt light to dark areas. Thinking it was the 'fix and compress' I even moved the mine to reset it. Still the same problem. Is there something new you have implemented here that I need to do to smooth out the lighting again? Or maybe I am so rusty that I just need help, lol. It might also be this stupid WinXP.

Original level: WICKEDG1.mn3
Current fixed d3l: wicked4phenom.d3l
Current test level: awicked8.mn3 (level name is awicked8)

If you (or anyone) can help fix this lighting, I would like it to be the exact same darkness as the original level. Thanks for the help!

Also, what are the current urls for the downloads that are active?

Hello DwnUndr,
nice to see a note from you again!

'palmleaf1' is the correct texture for portals now.
There is no real need for fix and compress, this was just to make all portals flythrough which is the base i.e. for BNodes
There shouldn't be any duplicated rooms after fix and compress, this must be a bug. I dl your zip and will look asap.
Lighting, did you light single rooms there? Looks like. Or is this really the result of entire mine lighting?
and did you take and test out the presets for the release mode lighting?

Use this new link : http://www.descentforum.de/forum/viewforum.php?f=53
There will be a new D3Edit version for downloading soon. It's in the test phase just these days.
You may PM me to get some more infos.

I made a lighting test with the lighting release presets. Hard to say if it's looks better, different paint programs.. different pictures.. Smilie
Just test play to see if this would looks like you wanted now.
