Okay, I should know how to do this... but I don't. That is I'm not quite sure how to work the tool.
Most specifically, how to get it so that the secondary goals show up under the their primary goal.
IE.. You need to do "A", but first you need to do "e". "f", and "g".
Is there a tut out there for this? As the Tutorial section of the Descent community is still rather gutted, I'm having trouble locating one.
Thanks!
Oh, this thing may not be scripted but at least I'll have my guild-bot stuff/ objectives in place.

Ok, now that you've got this sorted out how about writing a tutorial yourself?

Well. I don't exactly have it sorted out. from what I gather, Objective setting goes hand in hand with scripting in Dallas. I just don't have the patience for that. The list is there and I got it to look like the regualr objectives, but they don't work. Much of it still needs to be assigned in Dallas. That part (as I recall) isn't too terribly tough.
Still after 5 years, I just want it done and out of my hair. tired of flying it alone.

Heh... even with scripting seems to not always work the way you would think... But it's easy enough to to script, I can show you what I did in a level. Or check Kyouryou's site, he has a walkthrough of Reactor Gamma's scripting in a tutorial there.

thanks Will, but no. COD has over 200 bots. I need to script nearly each one along with some complex reactor functions and lights. Not too mention the guild bot nodes etc etc. You really need to do that stuff as you go along. Much like texturing.
Ky's tut is excellent. I learned quite a bit and also neough to realize the job I had to finish out COD like I want to. :\ Aw well. still a great shootem up.

I meant what I did as far as the goals scripting goes. You've got an interesting level there but even if you just scripted the switches and goals, it would go a long way.

heh.. you've almost got me convinced. maybe I'll start on it next week. Go through the tuts again. It's not really that hard. My wife has been recovering from back surgery in a nursing home the last couple of weeks so I'm doing much else these days. Admittedly I'm being lazy, but you are quite right. I'll pm you later if /when I need some help... i'm sure I will.
Can't wait for your other levels. Nicely done!

Is there a call out for animation on the objects I used in plasma couplers? I still need to go through the tut. ..well set up Dallas again for that matter. Later today me thinks.

There is info in the tut I linked you to about animating objects. But basically you first need to name the object, either in the object bar or use OI, then in the object bar look at 'Info' to see how many frames it has. The command in DALLAS play animation for object (or something like that) is pretty self explanatory. Just remember that you are starting from 0, so if info lists say 12 frames you want to play 0 to 11. You can enter a large number if you don't know the number but if the animation is looped it might be jumpy unless you enter the correct number.
