*yawn* - good mornin'. I worked on my Level OSC V2.X all night.

Done:
-some further "frames" for the glass added in the upper long corridors
-the upper long corridors to the big energy centers are no suicide ways anymore because of one hiding-corner for each in the middle (more information later)
-clutter placed in the tunnel below the main rooms
-FPS-optimization.

I've split up the Red Base into 4 sections to make sure that not the whole level is rendered from there anymore - the results are awesome, heh Winken

old(V2.0) vs new(V2.2 build 4) FPS/renderstats

now look at the outlined screenshots.

OSC V2.0

OSC V2.2 build 4

old outlined big picture
new outlined big picture

There you see why OSC is a framekiller. I'll work over the whole level and improve several other things - the next improvements, public betas for testing issues and announcements are posted here, then.

Good fight, Good night. (D'oh...)

~E

Well - yes. I Measured FPS at 5 positions in my level - the red line is in front of the redbase - the blue in front of the blue.
Where I optimized the red/blue bases, I colored that part of development slightly red/blue in the table below. now look at htose results. ;D

I haven´t found any errors yet but I think we should test it in a CTF before you release it as a final. Nice work, Ecke! Sehr glücklich

*giggle*

Only one year of lag - that's nothing compared to the age of Descent...
