I've got it at last. Glidos now has full mouse support for Descent II.

The one remaining problem is speed. If you have something like a 1500MHz Athlon and DDR then it works like a dream at 1280 x 1024 60fps, but a lesser system than that may not fare so well. There are tips for improving frame rate on the web site.
