Some players asked me about a 'No Mod' version of SD, and... here it comes
I changed less, just fixed a little known problem, and so it's just the same level as Subway Dancer.
Without custom weapons it seems to be very good playable too

Well, well, well! Hehe.
I have been hosting Subway Dancer since it came out with an average of 60 pilots on my server each day.
Then, people complained about the mod weapons being "unfair".
Then I hosted No-Mod for two days. Total pilots over two days? 6...not 120.
I just put the original back up. It is full again.
Guess you did it right the first time Atan!

Hello,
I think, without the Mods the level has also a big run, but this should be known by more people.
For myself I love the Modversion, it may be a little bit unfair, but everybody can use the same weapons as he wants.
Therefore my favorite is SD with MOD.
I am sorry about not so good ping for the SD level hosted in USA, but SD ist also playable with a little bit higher ping.
But this should be the experience for everybody. I like to die and have some kills behind.
Thanks for great hosting
Aga (not too often on PXO, more betatesting with LL Group)
Betet, das ich es auch noch schaffe. Doch ich bin dran.

Oh,
I believe it's needed to let a level stay online for more than one day or two.
We can't hope that much players will try a level out in this short time,
bad too if it's not at weekend...
I would hope all you serverops would give coming levels a little more servertime.
TIA
Atan

Are you saying you would like me to switch back to the no-mod version for a week? I will if you want that.

Please give it a try.
I think in this case it's hard for the 'following level' to be accepted,
I did no public relations for this one,
so let's see what will happen.
But I was more thinking about any level which will come out or will be a little older now
and had none or less server time up to now.
I think a new level must really stay a little longer online,
well let's say i.e. if it's empty for 1-2 weeks this will possible say it not a real hit then.
Just my 5 cents

oh yeah, dwnundr,
give it a try and bring the level online again
sd-nomod was up only for a short time so that i had not time to play it at pxo.. i really like sd-mod and would lookig forward to play sd-nomod a little..
(i guess if it´s on for one or two weeks a lot of people who don´t like the weapons-mod will play that level cause its great)
btw thx for canyon-siege, was the very first level i played online on march 2002 when i started to play d3.. much fun that thingie )
greets
DigiJo

Well, that was a bust. Maybe a dozen pilots poked their head in the no-mod over the entire week.
I just put mod up overnight...in 8 hours there have been 35 pilots in there already.
PXO has spoken!

Yes
thx for trying it out.
So, what should we learn by this?
Could it be that most of the players want mods?
Messages we saw i.e. here, talked against this idea, some really disliked that 'mods'
but we all know that only a few player will state their meaning in the forums.
I believe most of the players even don't know about forums or don't like to talk about levels, just wanna play.

Sorry Atan, but that not true!
Like I told you: If people are happy with your mods, they won't state about it, but they will play it!
We've got a few " conservative" pilots, which doesn't accept changes in descent at all. Well, I think we must tolerate this.
I can only speak for myself, when I say, that exactly mods like yours, keep this game alife and interesting. The people who dislike it are not forced to play it, so they don't need to play it. But it's proved by your level, that I am not alone with this opinion, cause it's played all around the clock, also from the german pilots. That's much more important than the few critics of a few people.
Keep on doing like this and give us more of these mods.
Love, Peace und Vollgaaaas!!! (jetzt erst recht!!!)

Very true Tiekiller..the happy people usually don't post. But the jerks among us post all the time, usually negatively.
Subway Dancer is popular for two reasons..the first is that it is a beautiful level. Lot's of eye candy and it flows well. Then as a bonus, it has cool looking and sounding weapons.
It's funny how a lot of people posted that "woo hoo, no mods..I'm there!", then they never even showed their face in my server to play it once. Lol.
Still a great job Atan!
